Grabbed this set off the local CL. I just couldn't resist it! Appears to be complete and it's very cool! Next step, rust treatment. Any guidance / tips on cleaning this wooden box?

Fascinating! Perfect word! Looking more closely at the finish, they appear to have been black, but I'm not sure exactly what form. Guess it could be simply black paint in the 190x's? Hopefully Lauver will chime in as I believe he'd know.

Cool old set, would be careful cleaning the inside of box as the sticker will be very fragile, would probably just leave the inside of the lid as it is, for the outside may be worth trying warm water and a cloth first, need to avoid soaking the wood though as it will warp....
