Maybe this is the wrong category to post this in because it's not actually a tool, but maybe somebody can steer me in the right direction. My brother and I were cleaning out an old barn for somebody here in central CT. last Sunday when we found this lock. With a little more digging in the box we found the keys. I know a lot more about old tools than padlocks. Does anybody have any ideas on the year it was produced or links to a site that can help. I have joined a vintage lock forum, but am waiting to be accepted as a member.

All I know is that lock is super cool and I would love to own it. I think I would hang it on the wall in the house as a decoration

Thanks everybody for all the info. I never knew the lock museum existed in Terryville, I am going to take trip there soon to check it out. The Wikipedia page was very interesting as well. Thanks again. I will post again when I find out how old this thing is. TM

I received a reply from somebody on the vintage lock forum I joined. They attached a scan from a 1928 catalog that shows a lock quite close to mine, but he thinks mine be slightly older. It's worth nothing but it's very cool.

I have searched jeffmoss26 but all I come up with is links to threads that he has probably posted in, but are more than a hundred pages. Please give me some tips to find a member directly for a pm! I'm still a new guy here!

Find any post made by him in any thread. Click on his user name at the top left of his post, choose the option to send a PM to him. Cool lock!
