I picked this up over the weekend at the flea market. It very well made and it is the strongest corded impact I have ever tried. I own both a Dewalt and a HF 1/2" corded impact gun and this one puts both of them to shame. I could not find any information on the actual gun itself as to who made it. It looks like it had a ID plate on it but all that info is worn away. The only thing on it that could probably lead to a successful id is the emblem on the back of the gun. Does anyone here have one of these or possibly know when it was made and who made it? Regardless I think I will take it apart and soda blast the body and try to find some new brushes for it.

Man that is a cool emblem! I would guess that is from the cold war era, they were big into the futuristic stuff. You know, the time when they thought we would have flying cars by now.

The only company I can think of with those initials is Sturtevant Richmont. I know they make Torque Tools now but don't know if they ever made an impact gun.

That is the same exact logo as well. I tried to do some research online in older sears catalog pdf's but I never found this impact wrench in any of them. I suppose it really doesn't matter as it works well for what I want. I wonder why Sears got to make it for them though? I have seen similar IR made guns from the same vintage.
