I picked up this vintage Cornwell socket set and was curious as to whether there are collectors out there that would be interested in it. I have no idea of it's worth so if anyone could help me out it would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Whats great about that is it's complete. There are a few extras but that won't hurt the value. I have no idea of actual worth

Thats a pretty cool set... as a rule vintage tools by in large are not commanding huge staggering values. I can't really help you with a value but it is a very nice looking set. I'm sure someone would be interested. Maybe ad $10-20 to your cost + shipping and see who's interested.

To tag onto the Cornwell thread, I just picked up an old 20" Cornwell 3/8" speeder because I'd never seen one before. Then, I realized I don't know if there are any Cornwell collectors on this forum. Plomb - several. Snap-on - dozens. But who are the serious Cornwell guys here?

Unfortunately, there's not really a collector's market for old tools like there is with stamps, coins, comic books, etc. I believe the only exception to this is old planes. There are a number of guys here who collect PlOmb tools, but the other brands are more hit and miss. You might want to contact your local Cornwell dealer and see if he knows of a collector of that brand, or he might be interested.

I USED to collect antique ratchets, but don't do so much anymore with the wife and kids taking up the majority of my tool money.

In short, if I were trying to sell that set, it's probably worth more as a functional tools set, then a collector's set and I would price it accordingly.

I would think that it would be worth more as a actual viable tool that can still be used more so than as a collectors item. They are quality made tools.
