Vintage Craftman air compressor

Picked this up a few years ago. Finally replaced the old cord and it fired right up.

I’m reading it may actually be for a spray gun vs an air compressor.

Really has a cool 40s - 50s look regardless

Anyone have any info on it?

This looks like one seen here earlier. Try googling this site with Craftsman spray paint or similar.

That model (obviously) had no tank so it ran continuously. It was meant to use with a special type of spray gun that bleed air when the trigger was released. Cool looking, but not very useful.

the guns with those compressors bled air continuous, the trigger controlled the paint
I saw a guy spray paint a snowmobile in the 70's with one similar . I was impressed
