Picked up an old drill press on C.L. for 20 bucks. It's model #101.03582, might be from 30's or 40's. will post pictures when I have cleaned it up a little. one of the pulleys is partially broke and the quill has a little run out. Will be trying to find parts and tearing it apart soon. It came with the original operating instructions and parts list. If anyone can help with info or where to find parts, I'd appreciate it, I've wanted a little winter project press for a while. thanks bob

Bob judgeing by the model number I am thinking Craftsman . The bearings will depend on what it has for bearings .

Dont worry about cleaning it up we want fresh pictures :D.

Your drill press is a craftsman, made by Atlas Press. I recently picked up a 101.03680 (floor standing) and I haven't found a whole lot of information yet, but owwm.org is a great source so far, if you stumble across any more info on these presses post it here! I'm also looking for the same pulley I believe, the one that drives the spindle, the PO of mine allowed the set screw to get loose and now the clearances are a mess and the pulley wobbles all over! BTW, I don't know if yours wears it's original paint (mine didn't) but they were originally a med-dark cobalt blue!

Atlas made different levels of DP with different bearings, and the color schema may have changed as Sears changed the overall color schema over the years. Certainly blue was one, but there was also gray in the atlas era, and I think at least one other color.

Parts will be a **** shoot, from bearings which may be an over the counter part, to castings which will probably be an Eprey item...

Definitely do before and after pics!

will try to post some pictures tonight, I never have here yet but have a camera. I will look up how in the forum info. Looks like mine is original, and was some sort of gray. The cord has been replaced with your standard orange ext. cord and has no switch, more later, bob

Hi,
Just bought same model drill press. Have you posted the manual and parts list yet?

Dear Tyjoja,

Have you copied and posted your Craftsman Drill Press manuals anywhere?

Revsam

He/She hasn't been on here since 02/2013. If you follow the link Outlaw has above you will be able to find quite a few of the older manuals.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I was able to find a manual for my "vintage" Craftsman/Atlas drill press -- it looks like mine is the Atlas 1010. Plus, I downloaded other manuals that looked similar, so I should have more than I need! Thanks again.
