Can anyone help me with the vintage and manufacturer of this
vintage Craftsman drill press?
It turned up at the local Habitat Restore and was bought by a friend.

Built by Atlas, in the from the mid 30s to early 40s. If you don't mind me asking, what did he get it for?

He paid $75 for it. I almost bought it, but I don't really have room
for it and I also already have a bench top drill press and a big floor
model.

I recently bought the same drill press

I looked through the sales catalogs and found these were sold in 1942 & 1943.

I have read comments saying those are some of the tightest vintage dp's around.
