Vintage Craftsman saw guide ?

For those of you who love the old stuff, what can you tell me about this saw guide ?

Here's what I can tell you, it was made by Craftsman. It has the following part number 721-17120. It's made to be used with a circular saw.

I'm using it to cut my vinyl siding and it is handy. Whether or not it originally came mounted on the plywood, I don't know. My step-dad gave it to me and he got it from another guy that picked it up at a garage sale for $5.

I can't tell you anything about it but it looks like a great idea. Looks like it would work awesome for cutting siding.

Since I have this out and using it again on a siding project and we've gained a few members, I'll bring this back up.

Pretty common, basic saw guide that many a companies have made for years. I think they pretty much got replaced when CMS and SCMS became the norm. For those that couldn't afford or didn't want to move a RAS back in the day. I have one I built and it is handy for things the SCMS can't reach. Especially since I got rid of the RAS.

They do not appear to have been a popular seller. They were introduced in the 1952 catalogue and were gone by the 1956 catalogue...
