1. For long sessions at the DP, I'm on a stool.OK, that's two votes against, but without backing info. What's the reason / risk?

This is a fair point. I plan to keep the toggle switch open any time that I don’t want the motor running. When it’s time to run it, close the toggle switch and then step on the foot switch. The toggle switch isn’t hard to reach, but it’s also not where I would say is ideally placed from the perspective of quick emergency shutdown. Hence my decision to add the foot switch which will be stowed on the lower shelf when not in use.Accidental activation. This can be addressed with a good guard over the switch that prevents stepping directly on the button.
That’s a great setup.1. For long sessions at the DP, I'm on a stool.
2. If standing, I want both feet planted firmly on the ground.
3. I don't want to be distracted finding where the foot switch is. (especially a small one that can easily slide around.)
This is my prefered location for a switch. (a quick arms reach) VFD or non VFD.![]()
