Here are a couple of pics I took this weekend.

Most of this equipment hasn't been used in many years.

Post if you have ever used any of this stuff.

I've used the Van Norman boring bar, the valve seat grinder, and the mag inspection fixture. Had a big machine to install valve seats and guides, many moons ago.

I've used it all, the boring bar is on a stand to do free standing cylinders. Much easier and faster to use a seat and guide machine to put in seats and guides, I had a TCM25 was a great machine.

Most of that appears to be 1940s-50s vintage and did the job, albiet slowly. The magnaflux is still in use today in many smaller shops.

Yep, most of this stuff was used in the late 80's and early 90's.

Here are a couple valve grinding machines that are packed away. They must be worn out or broken. You can see both in the pic.

Where I work is a 500,000 SF showroom of vintage industrial equipment made decades ago. It is amazing to wander and look and wonder who ran those machines and what they made. I would love to know how they were used. I wish I could tell their stories.

Amen to that! I love the early machinery with S-shaped wheel spokes.

You and I work in similar environments. The company I work for sells new machinery and buys, refurbishes, and resells used. Lathes, milling machines; you name it. I keep the company vehicles maintained and repaired.
