I saw this at a Cracker Barrel. I assume it is some type of rake for wheat or hay but that’s only a guess.

Does anyone know for sure?

It's a scythe with a gather.
It catches the cut.
It's a right handed one.
I saved a left handed one from being thrown away.
It was perfect.
Gave it to a neighbor who works the swap meet.
It took him three years to get rid of it at I think 30 bucks. Worst piece of gear to store ever made.
Mine still had red paint on the tine ends.
It was surprisingly well balanced and almost swung itself.
I couldn't try it out because No grass up here to have thrown me on my ***(theyll throw you on your *** judo style) , but it was a nice even swing.

The cradle kinda bundles the stem and tillers for multiple swipes. When enough the guy would dump it to be shocked or gathered.

Cracker Barrel! Pickers' favorite restaurant! I posted a photo of a perfect #4 Dayton pattern Kelly Works axe with a does foot handle on here a few years ago, joking I was going to steal it off the wall. Hard to find WWII jeep axe. Worth a good $50 or so. And there it was just staring at me on a wall eating my fried catfish! :)
