Vintage Garages?

I tried a search, but mostly got vintage tools, flee market threads, etc.

We are currently doing a 10000 mile family trip around the US. We spent some time on Route 66, and after seeing all of that stuff, and having always loved the 60's, PLUS, the fact that my first project will be a '65 FFR Cobra project car, I am really leaning towards creating a "vintage" garage out of my new 1000 sqft garage.

I'm looking for ideas and pictures. I was originally thinking of doing some sort of flat roof store front type Route 66 garage from the old days, but my weather won't do well for flat roofs. That means a more typical construction project with a gable roof, but with either some sort of facade (might be a waste of money), or just "decorating" the front and sides to spruce it up.

Do you folks have any ideas as to how to create this without a $1MM budget? I would be slowly adding pieces as they are found like gas pumps, signs, etc, and would be okay with repros to accomplish the look. The interior will have a dedicated spot for the Cobra to be parked, plus a 2 post lift inside.

That will come out nice. I just saw in my paper this week were a old original gas pump in VERY good shape didn't evem bring 20$ I was shocked because it was awsome looking but I have no place for it.

I would love to get my cobra project going also. I was thinkin factory five with my 03 cobra motor, trans, and interier.

I am, same screen name, but since I haven't ordered the kit (wife says I have to finish the shop first), not very active. Is your car already done?
I thought I recognized that name, TImC here. Car is in the bodywork process- that is slow. I completed the mechanicals and put a little over 700 miles on it so far.
