You can buy repops of the old globe type pumps from a guy that makes them from aluminum castings. He sells 2 sizes and will sell in kit form or completed. I've forgotten his name, but his business is called " ???'s fun stuff". Hope this helps a little. He advertises in Street Rodder magazine.

Do you have a specific style or model you want to replicate. Also full size or smaller scale? I think it would be a fun project but the glass tops and dials could still add up. Maybe a place to start is a business that sells/services petroleum pumps. Often they have a boneyard out back and you could score an older mechanical pump and make it look vintage with sheet metal. At least you would be starting with a base, dials, hoses and nozzles. Just a thought.

Yep, they are pricey, Richard. I think HotRod Grampa has a good idea. I'd love to have an old pump but I'm up to my eyeballs in projects now, so I don't need another one.
