Good evening Matt,

I just started down the road of restoring my grandfather's 3/4 bench grinder tonight and was already dreading finding a replacement sticker.

I was wondering if by chance I would be able to order a sticker from you that thankfully another member had provided me! (Thanks again Sector9!!)

Thank you!

Saylor-Beall air compressor tank label I just finished. About 13”x7-1/2”. Printed black and white on gold vinyl.
This one was tricky to make. A near perfect match!

I'm looking to fix up this atlas tag. Have you ever made little windows for the stamped lettering to show through?

I've made some labels with windows to put over existing metal labels. Also have printed on new aluminum sheet then stamped the label. Or I can make it as a thick adhesive label.

A new aluminum sheet sounds awesome, but also sounds like a lot of work. How have the windows turned out in the past?

Your label looks too far gone to put an overlay on it. Needs to be flat or air pockets will show. Metal printing isn’t too bad but I would first need to create a vector version. That’s the biggest effort regardless of how it’s printed.

Just printed up a set of Timken Bearing labels from a Craftsman / Atlas metal lathe.

I wasn’t able to get a perfect photo to use as reference and was never 100% satisfied with the layout. But a few weeks ago I picked up a lathe with a damaged label and that was all I needed to finalize the layout.

Matt,
How much for that Saylor Beall sticker, I am getting ready to paint a horizontal 80 gallon tank that I added a SB 705 pump to and may need a sticker?

Got mine last week but forgot to post up. This is one of them, didn't take a pic of the other yet. Amazing job - thanks Matt!

I'm leaning toward drive screws but I would like to find an assortment instead of ordering 100 of each size.

That is a good question! According to the chart it looks like #5 is the closest to a 1/8 hole, but suggests a #6 instead.
I can only find one source for #5 and it is 3 times higher then mcmaster.

Anyway the hole is 1/8 but I suppose I could drill it out a little bigger if necessary. I just ordered some, we shall see if a #6 fits.

I bought the 100 count boxes in 3 or 4 different sizes from McMaster so now I have 3 life times supply!

Try to get a concave or mushroom doomed rivet setting tool. If you use a hammer you will get a flat on the end or the rivet and it will look nasty.

Thats what I just did. Most of them were under $3 a box so not a huge deal.

Matt, My local "find" came with the label missing! It's a Baldor S7146 1/3 hp. I'd love to give credit to it's maker by replacing the label. New bearings and general wiring cleanup did the trick on this old beauty. Can you please manage a label?? Pictures of mine and what it Should look like:

Nice grinder. To make that label I would need to know the distance between the rivet holes so I can size it properly. Take some measurements and pm me.

Made a label for Hot Chop shop. His massive Baldor buffer was in need of a restoration. The old label lost all its color!

The new label is on aluminum and ready to attach. This is printed and applied to aluminum blank. The data is not stamped like the original but the look is the same.

I’m way too excited to have found this thread and that Matt still makes these. His attention to detail and professionalism to deal with is amazing. I’ll post finished photos as soon as it’s done here.

Just dropped by to say that it's awesome to see MattBlast making such high quality reproductions. I got one of the earlier Vinyl ones for my milling machine and it's also super nice and still looks perfect. Making fresh labels/stickers/badges is one of the only things I can't do/machine/complete myself on machine restorations---this whole thread is amazing.
