It seems there should be a thread on this but a search did not reveal one.

So, in the picture the red ball peen is a Champion DeArment, the small ball peen is a billings, the cross peen is a Stanley, the body hammer is Proto from 1960 and the soft face hammer is 1962 Snap on

And two larger hammers. The 2 lb. cross peen was given to me 2nd hand in 1958 and the 4 lb sledge is another Champion DeArment from 1962. The 2 lb has no maker's marks on it.

I'm humbled also. Great collection Snapmom.

Is the one with the green handle a proto like mine?

Snapmom, you have the most amazing collection of Snap-on and Bluepoint tools. If you haven't already, can you start a thread to showcase your collection? I have seen only small bits and pieces of your collection, but when you post - wow!

It probably is. I have heard them called tack hammers and other things. I just tried to come up with an adequately descriptive name not knowing the original intent. I inherited the hammer from my father in law.

It's basically a sheet metal workers hammer (tin knocker). We use it to assemble and hang sheet metal ductwork.

My prize hammer:a Keen Kutter small ball pein that belonged to my grandfather who was born in 1876 and passed in 1965.Still works great.
A couple of unusual ones:
A German made multi-tool with screwdrivers inside the handle.
A tiny folding multi-tool that has a small hammer in it.
A hammer/hatchet/pliers/screwdriver and just about anything else made in Germany.

Can anyone identify the maker of this vintage, small ball-peen hammer? The The first photo has a 6 inch ruler for scale. The handle looks to be oak. The head has a design, the only part that I can make out is "H".
