I just picked up an older hazet assistent. Was apprently owned by an ex Mercedes-Benz tech that has been long since retired. The current owner had purchased the gentlemans home in kck to remodel it and this was in the garage still. I found it on the facebook marketplace and jumped all over it. I'm on the fence of whether to attempt restore it or let it go to someone who could really restore it properly.

I did under that top mat find the original instructions to it written in about 5 languages.

Having owned one and sold it and then bought a Japanese knockoff and restored it I would offer this advice.

If you bought it cheaply I would consider selling it on Samba, a air cooled VW website, as is for 3-400.

I would not keep it in its' present state, I would restore it.

I really want to restore it but just unsure where I can get some replacement parts from. As is it all works pretty well though. Maybe juat some blasting and painting it would be good. O would like to replace tge rubber around the trays though.
