Vintage jack thread

The older and weirder the better.
All types welcome.
I`ll start as i just rescued this beauty from an outside garden yard art life. Gave it a liberal dosing of Jaf juice and it came to life, works great.
So who knows what it was used for?

Looks like a toe jack from here, so almost anything can be lifted

NOT a clue, but glad you posted it and started the thread.
It's a genre which has been pretty much ignored except for a few, notwithstanding the fact there are still thousands of ancient devices made for lifting things which are still in service! Some of them were designed to last through at least the next two or three glacial epochs.
@AntiqueBen and a couple other members have posted early jacks in the "railroad tools" thread.
