Vintage K-D stubby/low profile sockets

On the left is a K-D 3/8 drive 12-pt 18mm very low profile socket. It has no part number.
Markings consist of "18mm K-D USA".

For comparison, on the right is an 18mm sample of the often recommended Koken Z-series low profiles.

ANY idea what the part number for a complete set of the K-D's was?
Any idea when they were sold?

That KD socket is from the special serpentine belt tool kit which is why it has no number now a GearWrench tool with a different style of sockets that is first generation tool kit socket that came with a long bar with a 3/8 square drive on the end.

My Craftsman serpentine belt tool sockets look just like that too. Proto makes a set of 3/8 drive ultra short sockets, I don't know how they compare to the Ko-Ken.

it was a KD tool rebranded back in the day, I have the Proto set and they are close in size.

Some era's of Craftsman sockets were fully broached, and I was not above dremeling the end down to whatever length I needed for a job. Semi-deep and stubby sockets were just a quick cut away!

Snap-on also made some. I think the one I have is dated 1957. I can check to be sure.
