Vintage Kennedy value?

My father is looking to sell his vintage Kennedy toolboxes and it has fallen to me to ascertain the value. The upper is marked 520-8158. The lower has the tag but the numbers have worn off. He's pretty sure he bought them some time in the mid to late 70s. Facebook Marketplace pricing is all over so I thought I would turn to the experts on here. There are a few tools that will go along with the boxes and I have no idea what they're worth if they're worth anything at all. What say you guys?

Just as a guide, the last word indicator set shown in the second picture goes for over $350.00 new.

Around here, low end Kennedy 520 top box goes for 40, GS pricing. In decent shape, w keys and front panel, start at $100, and go up to $200+. No idea how many sell at those prices. CL and GS pricing

No idea on the mid box.

The last word might be $100 on CL, not sure it would sell at that price

I think you've nailed it. I lucked into the pair for 20-some-odd dollars, but that's an outlier. There's usually one of the top boxes for sale on CL or FB at any given time, and we don't have many toolboxes for sale 'round these parts.

If you want to reach the maximum number of potential customers and don’t want to deal with CS and CL flakes give Josh a look at:

I have bought numerous wood working tools from him as well as used him to sell (on consignment) some machinist tools for me.

I have no affiliation with him but have found him honest and fair to deal with.

A word of caution, if other the tools look to be in the condition of the last word indicator set, the value may be (much) less than you might think.

No one is looking to get rich here or uncover the holy grail. If these were mine I wouldn't bother trying to sell them to be honest. I just wanted to get opinions such as yours in an effort to cover my bases when the items sell for less than he thinks they should have. Thanks for info.
