I drug these old aluminum lights out of a shop that was getting torn down. They are Steber lights, maybe 40's or 50's? Not sure, I searched online but most all I found were smooth not stepped like these. I did figure out that they were out door parking lot lamps most likely.

The biggest prob for me using them in the shop was the crazy amount of heat they put out. First, I rewired it to make it safe again, the old wires were all crumbling. Then I converted it from the Mogul size to the smaller standard bulb size and installed an LED spot light. The LED puts out 1500 lumens! I welded a bolt to a chain and hung it from the rafters over the lathe to get some much needed direct light, with out any added heat on my head. I'm super pleased with it now.

Steber Lighting of Broadview, IL was bought by Hubbell many years ago.

Edit: Nice lathe.

Theose are really cool, they look like hazardous location lamps like you would see in power plants or refineries.
