Found this set at a garage sale today for $5 but can't seem to find anything online about them. I googled the part number and all that comes up is a matco bottle opener. Does anybody know anything about them?

Does anyone else think these style stands are death traps? It still amazes me that I used them for years without issues.
No, you're right, the base is wayyyyyy too narrow. Gives me goosebumps if the car shifts when I set it down.

Used to have several of sets of those in the ‘ole garage, until my brother started using them. Managed to kill all but one I think. They were sketchy bastards to use.

Not the same company as Matco Tools. I think they are from the 1970s or even 1960s. Cheap jack stands (but I've seen worse).

Edit- check out this catalog on ebay. The cars illustrated in the catalog look mid-60s.

I still have four of those kind. No-names from the 1970s. I still use them, but for “lightweight” stuff (most recently under a basement sink as I worked on its support frame). They sure ain’t goin’ under one of my vehicles again.

Yep. They bend easy. A buddy of mine gave me a couple and I only use them under trailer tongue and simple things.

Yeah I sold all of mine to the scrapper. I can't believe our fate relied on a small pin and those cheesy pieces of welded metal.
