Hello, i am new in this forum and from Finland but i thought i find here good information about vintage power tools. Here is my first question: i found this Metabo power drill from flea market (cost 5€). I know it's Metabo but i would like to know the model and manifacture year. It works but i am planning to open it and do some cleaning and repairs if needed. Not so much experience yet for fixing but done something simple maintaining and repairs. I love old drills and chainsaws especially for their looks and toughness. I'm looking for a good conversation.

It would be best to post your picture directly to your post and not use a link to a third party hosting service. Many members here are using smart phone apps to access GJ and for security do not want to click on external links.

I think I posted one similar to that that I picked up. We use it -- not every day but every so often. I think I found schematics and some parts that I needed, but it was tough (at least for me -- maybe you've got better google skills). It was a late 70's or early 80's and I posted photos up here somewhere.

Somewhere on your drill there must be at least a model number/ and or a serial number, that is a first step in dating your drill. If you can not find either of those two numbers, you can take a few other steps in your quest for finding information.

Type in google Metabo (for some reason I am having link problems) and find your Country and give them a call, be sure and ask for some tech help in finding information on at least a model #.

Either send them a picture or give them a link to this web-site.

When you know the exact model # you can look up a parts manual on line.

* Just a guess but maybe the #'s could be stamped on the inside parts of the drill ???
