Risingson,
The cars are Messerschmitt's, the red one was purchased by my father in 1959. I have owned it since 1999. The white car is a very rare Roadster, one of 304 built, it has 2,700 original miles on it.
The scooters are Centaur folding scooters, the light blue one is in the folded
( suitcase) position. I have had the darker blue one up to 40mph!

I really like how you display the bikes in your basement, it reminds me of how the Barber Museum display's some of their bikes. If you have not ever toured the Barber you must ad it to your bucket list, it is heavan an on earth!

Display at the Barber Museum:

Another picture of just some of the bikes in the museum:

I have been to the museum at least four times and can't wait to go back.

Thanks Jim, yes I've been to the Barber Museum, agree it's awesome! Much better variety than the National Museum in Anamosa IA which is great also. This summer I'd like to see the Wheels Through Time Museum in NC. It looks like a great place to visit as well, being I've met Dale Walksler at the Mid America Auction in Vegas and also enjoy his reality show "What's In The Barn".
I made my stands from pallet wood and wanted to create something similar to Barber's stands but also to look like an original shipping crate.

Here's when I just finished them, but had to do the runners over because the cold weather wouldn't let me stretch the ripples out of the vinyl. Somewhere I've got details of how they were made.

Seeing your GT550 brought back memories. I rode mine for 162,000 miles, including multiple cross country tours, before it died an untimely death at the paws of chipmunks.

Thanks for posting the link, I never knew the whole story! Think I'll go watch the pilot again:D

Have You seen the re-mastered version?
It is much better, and has good picture and sound quality, and even a short ******* Bonnie on the beach. Of course, I always avert My eyes at that point!:)
Right before Birney passed, He sent Me His scrap book of making the movie. He was the assistant to the Producer.
I treasure that book, lots of very cool stuff in it.:rocker:

I am so impressed by your collection of vintage Japanese bikes.
And envious too.
My first bike was an S90 also. I rode that everywhere.
I wish I had kept all of my old bikes.
I hope you keep us updated with the changes to your collection. Thanks

Wow, simply beautiful....Have you got any Fuji Rabbits? I miss my old Superflow.
No I don't, and I've only come across a couple of them. They are rare indeed!

With some patience you can still find a good S90 but they are quite collectable for the reason you mentioned (my first bike). That reason has caused people who want to re-live their youth to spend more than you'd think is reasonable for it. I know someone who has made a business out of finding peoples original first bike models in the same color!

Are there any vintage scooters in your collection? I only have the Centaur but have a friend who has quite a collection. I have done work on a couple of his scooters and motorcycles. At this time besides a few Triumphs I have a Miacoletta scooter in my shop that belongs to him. It is very well built and fast, what makes it really unique is that it has a "pendulum" starter. Instead of the starter rotating the engine, it rocks it back and forth against the compression until the momentum allows it rotate and fire. Very strange system, more complicated than it needs to be.

No scooter's at this time, but a friends Cushman was the first 2 wheeled motorized vehicle I ever rode!
I've limited my collection to only Japanese built bikes up to 1975, and still have a few newer ones that I now need to get rid of. The Rabbitt is an old Japanese scooter, so would love to find one. I really love the looks of those scooters you have and many of the '50s models, but need to restrain myself.:eyecrazy:
Last year at a swap meet I almost brought home a Czechoslovakian Cezeta like this

Here is a pic of my little old ST90, I also have an old 1988 Yamaha TW200, and an old Yamaha SR500. And a more modern SV650. Nothing like your incredible collection.

Great collection, Rizingson. Which bikes from the '60-'70's do you find the easiest to restore and find parts? I picked up an old B8 if for nothing else, garage art. Where would somebody find knee pads for that?

I have always wanted a Cezeta. I have owned a Rabbit and a few other less common scooters but I am a Lambretta and Vespa guy myself. I have about seven or eight in various stages of restoration right now.

I've seen that collection somewhere before, perhaps on the ADV rider site?

I think I'll always have a special spot in my heart for the older Hondas. First bike I had (and still have) is a 72 XL 250. Not loud or flashy, shoot doesn't even have blinkers, but rode that baby all over LA during grad school. No where near the beauty of your bikes though.

Keep up the good work and welcome aboard.

Very nice collection and displays by the various members. I have a strong love for motorcycles new and old, but I have a special love for vintage bikes. My favorite ones are the Honda CB series, the twins in particular. I have a couple, but they are currently disassembled and in crates waiting for me to get around to restoring them.

Yes 250, I've posted there on several topics as well as many Vintage Motorcycle forums.

Mike, the Kawasaki triple you see is a '73 H1D 500cc triple.

Just to update: As far as the shop addition that was mentioned in the first post, it has been postponed at least for now, since costs for it have become totally out of reason, IMO. Unless you think $65 a sf is normal for a 3 sided attachment with 9 ft walls and no inside finish. I was going to do the electrical and insulation as well as drywall finish.

:beer:I like your lighted displays. How many people was needed to lift them up into place?

Here's another shot from the shop, I took yesterday, showing some of my smaller bikes and a couple trail bikes.

Nice collection, I thought I had a lot of bikes ( at one time about 2 dozen) but realize im just a lamo. I got my m/c license when I was 16 on a 73 500 triple. Was my first street bike, my older brother bought it new.

Great shop ! I have questions on a 1966 Kawasaki Super 150 I have in my possession, inherited from my Dad. I see you have a pristine one and have seen some of your posts about them. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated. I will have pics of mine soon, rough but 98% complete and should run. It last ran in 1980. #'s are BF8-01370 and motor #'s are- 0147 L , FE8S-0063. I just got it in my name as a non-transferrable Registration here in N.Y. State. Waiting for reply, Thanks

Wish you were closer. I've got a Suzuki '68 K11P that I need to put back together (or sell!). It's got a broken plastic banjo bolt or whatever you call those.

Just wanted to update everyone here, that the plans for expansion were put on hold, at least for this year. Got busy on a few other non-shop related projects as well as disappointed in the quote I got for this project. Coming in at '''$65 dollars a sf, didn't sound like a wise investment at this time. The need to bring in a lot of structural fill as well as matching the stucco etc. really drove the price out of a realistic range. I may seek other alternatives as well as quotes next spring.

Of course that didn't stop the need to continue expanding my Collection of bikes!

Here are a few interesting new additions I have made this fall.
This is a 1961 Honda CB92 which is the second most collectible production bike Honda made. The Honda CB92 Benly was the first antique Japanese motorcycle to command a five-figure price back in the 1980s. Only 246 were imported to the US that year.
Here's mine before complete restoration began. After riding a bit, it is currently in a thousand pieces:wtf:
2015%5C09%5C07%5Cbikepics-2756482-800.jpg

It has a very unique tank style for that period.
2015%5C10%5C01%5Cbikepics-2759592-800.jpg

Also added a couple of mopeds from Honda as well. Honda only made two different mopeds in the late '60s. The P50 from '66-67 and the PC50 in '68 and '69. Then no more mopeds until '78.

Here's the very rare and unique P50 with motor wheel design.
2015%5C09%5C07%5Cbikepics-2756487-800.jpg

A closer view of the OHC 50cc wheel mounted motor. I've been getting parts for this project, as it will need to be restored.
2015%5C09%5C07%5Cbikepics-2756489-800.jpg

Also got this nice survivor, a '69 PC50 "Little Honda" that is quite a blast to ride. Complete and original, just like I like em'
