Vintage Parker 93 1/2 Vise

Can anyone tell me anything about this old Parker 93 1/2 vise? I got this off Craigslist recently and thought it was a pretty cool old vise. The guy said he thought it might be from the 1920s
Any info is greatly appreciated.

I think you are actually fine at $100, as this is an extremely rare vise from the 1930's, I can't remember when I last saw one here on Garage Journal or ebay, so that should you tell you a lot about the rarity! - Not to mention the awesome art deco design!

Appreciate the info. I like the deco look too. Coolest looking little vise I've ever seen. Yours is nice too. I wasn't looking for something like that, just a bench vise. When it came up I couldn't stop myself.
I did find a couple of google pics searching by vintage "parker vise"
Not much though. There is one on ebay, but it's damaged.

I don't know if I can bring myself to sell it, but I'm not sure I want to use it either. Even the paint isn't bad if it's from the 30's.
I haven't cleaned it up yet. What's the best way? WD40?

I was only joking, I would not sell if I were you, it's way too cool and useful

as far as cleaning, I would not clean it much at all, you might clean and lube the screw with any good bearing grease, and perhaps hit any rusty bare metal with some Kroil and a toothbrush (i.e. the handle), but I think you want to keep the cool original patina!

Great vise. I think it was a style anywhere from the 30s to the 50s. I have a Prentiss that is quite similar in style, and was probably made by Parker during the period when Parker bought out the Prentiss line and manufactured under both brands for awhile...

This is a beautiful vise! What a great piece of American streamlined design. Bolt it down, use it, enjoy it, and at the appropriate time, find the right person who appreciates it as much as you do to pass it on to.
