Accidentally posted this in general tool discussion, so I apologize for the duplicate post.

Anyone ever seen one or have any info that they could share?

It's a power hammer. I'm just not sure if someone retrofit it to be one or it has always been. Because I've searched extensively over the past couple of months to identify the make, but I can't even find a picture of anything that looks similar.

Maybe a planishing hammer. Too light for forging. Nothing like that in the Freud book Pounding Out The Profits either. There are a lot of planishing hammer makers though and many were shop made by modifying something else that had the right basic shape. Ed.

I searched all types f sewing/stitching machines sat night and there was cobbler machines tat were similar in shape but not exact, so I'd say that crguy is probably right. It's definitely a lot more stout than my hf planishing hammer so I'll swap it out in my lineup. So now I guess I have another cast piece that I'll never quite be able to identify.
