Has anyone attempted to disassemble and clean an old proto wrench like the OP's? I got one in box at an auction a while ago, I feel a good cleaning would bring it back to life, but have no idea where to begin.

It is a nice pick up at that price if you wanted one. But to flip it I don't know if it is enough. I got one on an estate sale several years ago in the original box. Proto LA with the flying lady. I tried to sell it for $50 with no luck. Then $25 and still no hits then I ended up trading it on here and I think it was my first gj barter. But all in all if you bought it to have one you did good.

Neat collectible, but as a user it's worth about $50 minus the cost to recalibrate it; so not much value as a user, if any.

There are many youtube videos out there that will show you how to test the calibration on your wrench. If it checks out OK, you have an excellent tool. $12.50 is a steal if the wrench is working correctly.
