Vintage PS & W shear

I recently scored a vintage PS & W (Peck, Stowe and Wilcox, currently, PEXTO) foot shear. I'm fairly sure it was from the very early 1900's. Anybody know what the original color was? I need to clean mine up and would like it to look original. Thanks!

My 3' Pexto was green. My 4' that is 20 years old is blue. All the ones I've seen as I worked in several shops were green.

Thanks... that's what I was thinking (green)... mine has had several colors on it and is currently gray.

Green it is!
