I have an OLD S-K ratchet set, with a model 105 hex ratchet that has a female hex end that a plug would go in, with an "L" shaped hex bar and sockets from 7/16 to 15/16, on a little red sheetmetal board with a shelf for the sockets. There is a pic of a 105 ratchet on alloy artifacts. I'll get a pic of this set up as well. Anybody know much about the age of something like that, even alloy artifacts was a little vague about it, but I'm thinking 1930's.

Here's a pic...that is a piece of twine holding the hex bar in place and the plug is missing.

I bought this set because I used a similar set that belonged to my dad, when I was working on my crappy cars as a teenager 25 yeras ago. I don't know what brand his was, but I seem to recall a red holder and this general type of ratchet.

Unusual style for SK. I've seen many like that made by Duro but can't remember seeing a SK version.
I think your on target with the 1930's. I would feel safe saying that the latest it would have been made would have been early 40's.

I hadn't noticed the rust in the sockets...guess I should clean and oil this stuff.
None of the sockets pictured on alloy artifacts have that beveled area toward the top.
