cool.

I was at an auction a few years ago where the guy had a huge setup like that, but it was on railroad rails and had a power feed. it was under a lean-to that was probably 20x30.

It went for $50...just too big and difficult to move...would have loved to have it but no way to move it. believe the buyer was a scrap dealer...what a shame...

PS. thanks for not posting a huge gigantic picture!! not sure what's up with people pasting huge photo's but kudos for being photogenically kind!

Brings back memories of working at the mill. All that say there would be no trees left, work a mill for awhile plus pull the danged things out of the woods for awhile and you'll see why I no longer fool with it. Fun yes. Profitable, not really for a small operation. It's a living I guess. However I wouldn't mind having the blade for a static display. Other than that, for what that guy is asking I would rather buy a band mill. Less mess and less waste. Had a Woodmizer for quite awhile and it was the berries compared to a stationary mill.

So it's a gas engine. The ones I worked on were 6 71 jimmy powered. 300hp is nice but how much gas does it **** in. It's mounted on RR track as well. I've seen guys mount these on hi-boys which makes them "portable" somewhat but still not the kind of thing you want to move when it's set up. That might be something the buyer should consider. Must have a 16' carriage and meant for big logs. Oh to have a section of land, treed and life to live over….

Moving some mills is not bad. Amidon could set up their mills and be sawing in 1/2 day. They were made in West Willington, Ct. I was at their factory once whei the fellow I worked for went to buy new teeth for his saw.
