My great grandmother had an old cast iron sink with metal base. My grandparents and their siblings, parents and their siblings and cousins, and myself and all my cousins have all been bathed in it. Obviously it has huge sentimental value. After my great grandmother died, my grandma and her sister tore the original house down and built a beautiful "duplex" that is about 2500 sqft on each side so they could live together on the old home place. Thankfully they saved the sink and base. A few years ago, we removed the sink and placed it in my aunt's lake house kitchen, and now great-great grand children are being bathed in it! When the sink was removed, the base was left to sit outside for a few years, and has rusted badly, but could be saved with some work. I started on it, thinking I could restore it and make a workbench, but it has become too much work and is taking up too much space. Is there any interest in the bases for these sinks anymore? I'm located in NW Arkansas if that makes a difference. The picture is not of our actual sink, but the same kind.

If someone wanted an old retro look in their kitchen, the sink with built in drain boards would be nice to have. The best way would be to send it out to be powder coated for best durability, porcelain coating like a bath tub would be expensive.
