Hello everyone

Been looking around here for awhile and just decided to post something. I am purely a collector really, it's nice to have nice tools around but mostly they get used to adjust the feet on the dishwasher. I work in print and really with a set of metric hex wrench's you can solve 90% of your problems on a 400k big ink jet printer.

Anyway I found this SK set at an estate auction and I was hoping to get some help putting a date or east time period to it. I would say 1950s but that just my guess.

Before 1962 (S-K Wayne) for sure. My logo progression knowledge runs out around 1946/7, when they went to the metal badge. Since you've been 'looking around' the site you probably saw the S-K thread pop up to page 1 from time to time. The 50s logo progression has been discussed there within the last few months (last 10 or so pages on that thread). You can find it the quickest by using the Index in the Sticky. Or wait for Don (d42jeep) or someone else from that discussion to see this.

I’ve done a little more checking on this and the first time I see that particular logo is in the 1958 S-K/Lectrolite catalog. I couldn’t find a listing for that particular set but with S-K that isn’t unheard of. S-K Wayne started marking tools with their new name in 1964 so it’s very likely that your set was made between ‘58 and ‘63. Thanks to GJ member Kdaniel8601 for making these catalogs available to all.

Thanks everyone for taking a moment out of there day. I am definitely finding SK to be more "interesting" to put a date to then say Snap On. The set has, without digging it back out, a 2" and 6" extension, along with a spark plugs socket with it. Can't remember aize. Also the fist row of sockets is all 1/4" drive which I find odd, anyone have any ideas on why?

Oh and no adaptor, so as it sits now no way to use the 1/4" drive sockets with the other tools in the box.

Thanks again.

I just found these 1/4” drive tools on eBay to fill some sets. Looks like your beautiful set needs some like them. They probably went missing over the years. You might want to add pictures of your set to the main S-K thread.
