I've searched for a few hours and cannot find info on this 12lb hammer head.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Awesome! I have a sledge with that logo but never tried to look it up.
Glad you asked.

No problem. Glad to help. They made a lot of striking tools and pry bars for the US Army Corps of Engineers, which is how I am familiar with the monogram, one of my favorites.

Nice find.

Thanks! I got it in a box of tools I bought for $10. The smaller axe head is Zenith, and no ID on the big axe. I have no idea what the wrenches are for.

It looks like the company was in business for over 100 years. Pretty neat, and based on the lack of other info on the head...no way to date it.

This is just speculation, but it looks prewar to me. My Woodings Verona tools only have the monogram. In fact, the only place I have seen the full branding like that is on a catalog cover. As a caution on that speculation, the Woodings Verona tools I have are not large, so there may not have been space for the full branding. Having said all that, most of the items in the lot also look prewar to me.

I have no idea what the wrenches are for.
If you mean the ones with the square holes in the shank, looks like they doubled as a tap handle or perhaps for any square nuts like shut off valves on gas and oxy lines and tanks etc, or something on a loom/textile machine.

I am interested in seeing more on all five (5) of the "S" wrenches as well as the double alligator. Please post photos or transcribe the markings.

I will get as much info as I can and post it. Is it acceptable to take a softer wire brush to the markings to help ID them?
