Just came across this site while researching a vintage 3-piece snap-on I found on CL. I am new to the world of snap-on boxes and up to this point in my life I have only had a few craftsman boxes which cease to impress me. I'm looking to upgrade without spending a small fortune. I'm hoping to get a little help/info/advice regarding this box. It was initially listed at $700 and now he has it down to $500. Would this be considered a decent deal if I could get it for 400-450? Thanks for helping out a new jack. Here is the box:

That's a nice old box. I'd say its a good deal at $300-400 yeah.

Be aware those older boxes had regular friction slides, not roller bearing slides like new ones do.

That one looks like it's from the 1960's-70s.

That's a small rolling cabinet, but a really nice top and intermediate box.

If it's in good shape and the drawers all work, I'd say go for it.

Is this the same one that's been repainted? If so you need to inspect it carefully in person. The image he posted is terrible quality and it could be Krylon over rust.

P.S.
There's no problem with friction slides if they are in good shape.

if they are in good shape, 3-5 would be a good deal... i would give 300-400 for top and middle... assuming not krylon covered rust as suggested....lol

if i was in the market for another box,
and it was in good condition ( hard to tell from the pic)
and had $500,
i'd be hauling it home without hesitation :3gears:

Yes it's the same box. I haven't checked it out yet.
