I tried asking this before but was unable to get a clear answer. Does anyone know how or where the locking mechanism (specifically the spring and lock washer) attach to the lock rods ? It’s for a 1978 KR 555 but I’m pretty sure it should be the same deal as other roller cabinets in that era. Pictures would be awesome but even a general area would help immensely!

Almost finished with he box (new casters, friction slides, and paint) just can’t figure out where this damn spring goes lol

Anybody have any pictures of the lock rod intact ? The KR 557 and KR 558 should have similar spring tensioners. I would really appreciate it

Well Catcher,
I’ve got an MBC rollaway Cab and top chest…It looks very similar to your S/O mechanism.

I’ll check on it in the am ; it’s too cold and wet to venture out to my work zone ATM.

I’ll text you any info that I might find, photos, etc…

The C-clip looks like the ones used in parking brake systems on older automobiles to retain pins and links. A good hardware store will have a large assortment of springs, one of which may work. An auto parts store should have a brake spring assortment which might have a brake shoe hold-down spring that would work.
