I have a 3/8 Snap On ratchet that I pick up somewhere a while ago. It is a non quick release style. Does anyone know how to convert it to a quick release style?

This is the style head that my ratchet has.

Some of them you can. I took an old 20t 9/32" drive ratchet (drive had been ground down to 1/4" before someone gets upset) and put in a new rebuild kit with a 36t gear. Works very well now.

Well the kit arrived this afternoon and I went to swap the guts out. Turns out the new parts wouldn't fit, they were a hair bigger so out comes the Dremel to remove some metal from the head of the ratchet. I'm going to need to go to Ace tomorrow to pick up some sand paper for the small drum attachment as well as a small diameter grinding wheel but I will be able to get it to work.

Thanx!
