Hello from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Is it normal for a date code 1981 S 71 Ratchet to be painted red on the bottom side only ?.

It was common for workers that worked in shops/on jobsites with other people to paint their personal tools to make them easily identifiable--I used to do so with my carpentry tools.
