Picked up this 9/32 set for $25 without the ratchet. I had the ratchet. My question is this the right ratchet for this set?

Any date codes? I see speeder has old style end, so probably m70 would be correct. The one you have looks like m70m?

Here are the basic 1930, 1938 and 1940 sets with ratchets. 1930 to 36 used m70 (optional had to pay xtra). 37 38 had m70n ratchet, no screws in ratchet head. 1939 on m70m ratchet with screws in ratchet head. Probably other variations after that like m70l,pm70, but those are kind of the standard versions.

Thanks. Looks like I need to find an older ratchet or a wooden handled driver. For now it's resting comfortably in the 9/32 box.

I picked up a set like that last year which I recently posted in the 2017 Yard sale thread, but I had no idea it was that old. I tried to use it the other day, and to my surprise none of my 1/4" sockets would fit.

Snap on phased it out late 40s. 25 to 45 was 9/32 drive. They started 1/4 drive around 1940 and offered both for a few years. Here is an early 1/4 set from 1944
