Vintage Snap-On socket trays-Looking for assistance

I acquired these two older Snap-On socket trays and instead of them just laying around, I figured I'd clean them up and paint them and then they can at least lay around while looking good🤣

Does anyone know what era they're from and what the original color was for these? There is some red under the handle but I have no idea if that's the original color as they were stripped when I got them.

I was going to say pre-1947-ish. I think some of the tools (e.g., 3/8-drive, for whatever reason) may have started getting the leaning, italicized font before most other tools, but that font was used early and right through WWII and immediate postwar.
