First things first. I have been visiting this forum for quite some time and have enjoyed many of the threads and discussions from tools to garage builds. Such an awesome site, Thank you . I have gained a lot of ideas for my garage. Most of what I do I my garage has been revolved around rebuilding and repairing Harley Davidsons. I have been interested in building a welding table and have slowly been purchasing the tools to build it. I am planning on building a table with the welders( Miller 211, Maxstar 150 and plasma cutter 625) to be contained within the table. In my pursuit of a suitable tool chest I ran into this Snap on tool chest, I believe it to be a KR-377A. Unfortunately I have not found any markings on it even after having it media blasted, So I am thinking that this may be a 1950 first year model. It was in horrible shape when I got it. I took it all apart welded the many, many holes and painted it Miller Welder Blue to go along with my welders once the Welding table is built. I hope you guys like it and apologies to all of you die hard Snap on red folks, I just had to rebuild it. Hoping for another 67 years of service out of it.

Its an automotive paint. I cant remember the name as it has been a while since I painted. I still have the cans and can check once home in a few days if you are interested. it is the same color as the new miller welders are painted with.

Great job turning that old beat up box into a nice one. I really like the color.

About a year ago I bought a KR 377B. Going from catalogs on the Collecting Snap-On website I estimated mine at late 1950's. After owning it for a year I finally just saw the model number stamped in the lower left (as viewed from in front of it facing the box) corner on the front of the box. Not saying yours would be there but that's where I would check.

Box turned out great. Did you have to repair or replace any slides? I straightened two pairs on mine but they're still not perfect. Snap On corporate was NO help but I have my shop truck guy digging into looking for some now.

Nice work! I like the blue.

A guy that I work with has a similar box in similar rough shape that he is interested in parting with if anyone is interested. I don't know what the price would be or the model/year. pm me if interested and I'll try to connect you with him.

Ps the finished box looks great. (kind of a Snap-On guy so the blue is a little bit of a problem for me but I can overlook It)

Thank you for the compliments on the box. it was indeed beat up, the sides were all there, I did not have to replace anything but rather massage it back and weld the holes up. I'll get the exact color match for you guys. It is a stock Miller welder blue. I also contemplated in just leaving it as is all beat up, do it in red or Blue. As I am building a welding table with my Miller welders etc, it just had to be blue.
