Looks like interesting stuff but they don't look like they are terribly rare tools; maybe Chad s can fill us in on the details and whether this is worth the asking price!

Interesting stubby screwdriver. I have some like that, but I don't believe they are branded Snap-on.

17 tools for $800!!! I think it is time that I start to sell off all my old Snap On that I have no use for.

Junkman,
You have to click on the craigslist link to see all of it. There is much more than the above picture.

I'm happy these tools have gone to a good home!

If Chad is only keeping that Ferret Set and selling off the other stuff piecemeal, his cost may end up quite reasonable...

Theres more than just the ferret set that I want. The little black box is an early 30's 3/8 "Nut Spinner" set (missing the nut spinner/breaker bar though), the 2 20's spinner extensions are something I have been looking for to complete one of my 20's 1/2 sets.

But all of the no71n 1/2 ratchets, the 5/8 tools, other boxes, thats all stuff I dont need because its either later than I collect, or stuff I have plenty of.

Not quite on topic but did you win the Snapon book on ebay "birth of a tool"?

I decided not to bid. I have spent so much in the past month, I decided to pass. Had it been a 20's or 30's item I would have, but for now I have to pick and choose where I spent my money more wisely.

Damn, it only sold for $8 or so! I would really like to see the pictures of the factory from the 40s and get a sense of the design and production process from that era! I posted about that particular booklet a long time ago; they come up from time to time. I was tempted to email the winning bidder on ebay to post some pics or something about the book and invite him to share on this board! Wishful thinking or something to ask? I guess all they can say is "no"! :)

I could be interested in the 5/8's socket and the blue point open-ended wrench! The 5/8's seems to impratical to me that I'd like it!:)

If you want some 1920's 5/8 sockets, I have probably 60+ of them, so let me know what sizes you want, and we can make a trade. Or if you want the ratchet, I have several duplicates of them as well, so that stuff is all up for trade.

I also have a pile of blue point wrenches, all of which have been waiting to go on ebay (or get traded), as I dont collect the Blue Point stuff, unless its 1920's (and labeled Blue Points)
