I have a 1953-1958 KR-53 Snap On tool box that does not have any model or serial number makings. It is from Canada. Any reason why it is not marked on rear of cabinet? Would appreciate any input.

I got the pictures to work. My father had this box and worked on his sprint car in the mid fifties. He became a hoarder and I believe this box was buried deep in the back of the garage and was protected. It does not appear to be painted or restored in any way - the paint colors seem to match all over. The last picture shows what was shown in the catalogue with the description beside. Any comments on this box? Thank You

Thank You Oldtuleguy after I cleaned it up it looked great. I was in the process of trying to sell it on Kijiji when a buyer asked if it had a model and serial number - it did not so I removed it from site to find out why. Snapmom said they started to mark them around 54 so it must be a 53 box which makes sense to me. What then without personally seeing it would any of the knowledgeable ones here put as a fair and reasonable price for this box?
I would truly appreciate any input.

I have one i got cheap but it was trashed and I fixed it up. That one is really nice, has the chrome script and original paint, maybe 2 to 3 hundred.

That box was made by MBC, I've owned several, but none as clean as that. As far as price, I've seen them go for up to $400, depending on location. Average price is $250-$300 in used condition. Personally, I wouldn't sell it.

In my experience that chrome script logo era boxes are rarer Than the black square logo boxes before them.

I have a 2 drawer mid chest of that style that's the only one I've come across in person.

Here's a snap-on classic I picked up for pretty good price bought it from a old retired mechanic that brought home his box in tools I've always wanted a snap-on box but really haven't wanted to pay snap-on price I work on Harleys out side of work and it's a perfect for what I need I really am picky about what goes inside the box I would not dare put any cheap harbor freight tools in a snap-on box it has a mixture of vintage snap-on mac wright proto channellock kline vintage craftsman usa harley davidson branded tools and I do have a tekton 3/8 socket set that is pretty good I can't complain any way I paid 200 for the box still had the liners 👍

So far as dating your box, I’d have to guess that it is later than 1953, due to the logo. I have a 1958 with that logo, and just sold a 1955 with the square logo.
