Vintage snap on top box tool box help

There are some truely fantastic looking topics on here, and to be honest that is why I joined,
I have a good selection of tools

But one thing I have left alone for many years, a long time, is my late fathers old spare top box, i beleive it is a snap on, and perhaps 1960s , but really not sure,
this box has been passed down to me . and has been heavily painted, dented, abused and used for years, it has been sat in the back on my workshop for nearly over 25 years, un touched ,
now I think it is time for me to restore it to its formal glory,
but could do with some advice,
one problem is, I can not find a way of removing the drawers from the runners, they are the non bearing type, just sliders, any advice,

you need two thin strips of flexabile metal pull the drawer out half way slide the strip in than pull the draw off

This is a followup question and not meant to hijack the thread...Once the drawers are removed, can the slides be cleaned and oiled or if broken or worn are they replacable? What is the recommended oil?
