Vintage Snap-on Torque-O-Meter... worth it?

I was at the pawn shop today and spotted a vintage Snap-on 1/2-inch drive, Inch/Lbs dial-face torq-o-meter.

I'm certain it needs to be rebuilt/overhauled and calibrated.

Does Snap-on still service them?
Any idea what they'll charge to overhaul it?

I'm certain I can get it for a song. I don't have an in-pound torque wrench.

Thoughts?

It's worth getting if you can grab it on the cheap. I'm pretty sure they are still serviceable. Mine was calibrated a few years ago before I got it, so I'm not sure of the cost. A dealer could tell you. I have the 3/8 version, 1960s era.

just finished using an old 1/2 Snap-on Torq-o-meter to 133 ft lb on a KTM 200 left hand crankshaft nut.

normal Snap-on click torque wrenches only torque one direction. been a long time since this old wrench came out. but sure glad I had it.

Not true for the micrometer type, but they are rated for slightly more accuracy in the clockwise direction.

This is the main reason I sold my Precision Instruments split beam and kept an old used Snappy micrometer type... occasionally I will work on old cars where the lug nuts on the left side of the car are left hand thread, or other LHT applications.
