Vintage? Socket rails, Chatay Prod

Havn't seen socket rails like this much, even with the crazy amount of threads on the topic. Cant find them anywhere on the web save for a patent document from 1981 (that vintage?). Thought I would share. They are aluminum, no magnets, but the fit is so good that you almost have to flip them over 45 degree pointing down before sockets fall off. 2x 3/8, 1x 1/2. They are marked "Chatay Prod. Indio Calif."

Thanks, they were in my late father's main box. He was a mechanic and worked in California L.A. area in the 60's some time, then back east for decades after that.
