Vintage Sun Timing Light Part Question

Hello,

Recently, I purchased (for very cheap) a vintage Sun Model CP-7501 Timing Light that, until I got home, did not realize that it was missing a piece (of course). From the photos I have seen online, it appears to be a plastic screw that goes into the left side near the front (just before the word Sun at the beginning of the red decal). I cannot find a parts list or owners manual for this unit, so I do not know what the piece is for, or what it actually looks like when removed. Questions:

1.) Does anyone out there have this same unit?
2.) If so, would you be able to remove and take a pic or two of what this piece is suppose to look like?
3.) If it a standard threaded plastic screw, I am sure that I could find one at a hardware store, but if it is special, I'm not sure where to get it. Does anyone out there have an extra one, or would you know where I might be able to find such a part?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

P.S. I'd post a pic of what I am talking about, but I don't know how to.

I have Craftsman 2134 timing light so I can't really help ya anymore than the photos :dunno:

But looking at online photos of other versions of the same part # don't seem to have it

So just a guess

was it maybe for a fixed mounting point

Don't quite understand what else it could be for

Thank you for posting the pics. Actually, I have not tried it yet; it just looked like there is a looped wire end (maybe a grounding point?) inside the hole, and I thought maybe that plastic screw held it against the housing or something. Looks like I am not the only one who has had this issue as shown in the first pic that DFB posted.

Isn't that where the flash bulb goes? I have an older light that has the bulb going up from the bottom, similar setup as your Sun. If yours flashes ignore my comment.

I have that same style chrome Sun Timing Light Model 7501 (without the 'CP' prefix in the model number) and it does not have that hole in it.
