Recently purchased an auction lot of vintage mechanics tools. This was in the lot. There aren’t any makers marks on it. The only writing on the clip says - “Press To Lite”. Any info would be greatly appreciated to help me ID this test light. It appears to be sealed? I believe the tools were used by an HD mechanic. Thanks.

Nice old continuity tester there!

I believe that Ideal still makes one similar, may very well be a vintage Ideal.

That looks like a modified pen light converted to a tester. I've seen similar ones without the leads.

The one I used back in the 70s worked that way, touch the body to ground, clip to source

Yup. The "Push to Lite" verbiage is the reason I feel like this is a conversion. I remember seeing quite a few pen lights that look like that.

I'm guessing whoever modified this bypassed the pushing function.
