Found this 1/2" ratchet amongst my grandpa's stuff. For some reason the name has been ground off both sides of the ratchet. I'll try to get pics up, but I checked the pattent number and it is from 1930- Hummel tools.

It is a made in the USA in Kenosha Wisconsin.

Anybody know anything about this company?

Thanks,
Mike

I had my suspicions because of the Kenosha connection, but looking at the patent info, I saw the design and patent for this wrench, designed by Louis Hummel for the Snap On Tool company. It's an old snappy, I believe.

Its probaby an old snappy, ck between the on/off on the head and see if there is a number or mark. Also sometimes the snap on name was removed for special made rats, so ck and see if there is anyother markings on the tool, esp. on the head.
