No, but I am sure that if you look under the " History of socket wrenches" those pictures will pop up...:)

I try not to beat up on the craigslist posts too often, but the fact that he hasn't posted a price must mean he thinks he's gonna get an outrageous number for them.

i'm speechless.......that belongs in the smithsonian:rolleyes:

Not to mention that early, how do you say, is it "speed handle" ?

Wow, just think. Barbers were bleeding people with leeches and steam locomotives were the high tech transportation of the day when those were built.

Wow, I can die now. There's no further reason to live. I've seen all that there is to see. I've seen men on the moon, the fall of the Berlin Wall, zero weight motor oil, and now this. Wow. It's truly amazing times that we live in.

I'm not sure what your issue with that posting is...

* He says it's a "vintage socket set..." I'll buy into that.
* He says that style was invented in 1863. I have no reason to doubt that.
* He never says that set is from any particular year or is any definite age. So there's no disproving any false claims.
* I don't see any indications he's trying to get rich on it - while I prefer CL sellers to list a price, he just says he's open to offers and bartering.
* I don't see anywhere is the description where he claims it's an "original" anything.

The claw hammer was thought to have been invented in the early 1500's, if I sell my old claw hammer that doesn't mean it's 500 years old...:headscrat:confused:

I guess it was the repeated reference to the fact that the style was invented in 1863. Why try to compare it to the original. Calling it vintage would have sufficed.
