Here are some pictures of some old tools that were stored away in the garage loft area at the family house that I am clearing out. The tap/die set was my Grandfathers from long ago. Check it out

Excellent set of tools. I and the fact they were used by your grandfather really adds to the story.

man...we have it good these days

But sometimes the chrome flakes off our tools... and the customer service desk takes more than 5 minutes! And my back hurts! I don't want to pay taxes. Whose idea was that?

And my latte I got this morning was just luke warm! And my ratchet isn't perfectly smooth!

Terrible times now indeed. :bounce:

I have a tap and die set just like that one. It also was my Grandfather's. I still occasionally use it. John--Las Vegas.

If you do any fabrication work, you can get a LOT of life out of that brace (drill) by chucking a countersink bit in it and hang it on the wall by your drill press.
I chamfer every hole I drill with one just like that. Put the round part of the handle against your hip or gut, hole the workpiece against the counter sink bit, and crank the handle with your other hand.

Quick, easy, and gives life to an obsolete tool.
