I am restoring a military Triumph motorcycle, a 1957 Triumph TRW. This triangular case is meant to be a tool kit. Mine is empty and I have no idea what goes in it. Would anyone be able to tell me? Many thanks.

Nope. Sorry. I have a WWII era military B.S.A. WDM20, and documentation for that toolkit, but I don't know anything about other military bikes or their toolkits. My hunch is the kits were fairly standardized in types of tools, if not size, by the M.O.D. and R.E.M.E., so you may be able to back your way into the kit by looking at mine, linked here. If I were you, I would start poking around the web. There are several good Brit Bike forums, and the BSA WDM20 has an excellent website. I'd bet there is something like it for the Triumph guys. In fact, some of the best guys on the BSA WDM20 forum have multiple bikes, including Triumphs, and they could probably steer you in the right direction.

I did find this TRIUMPH wrench a few months ago. But I don't even know if it's for the bike or the sports car. If you end up finding some good documentation or info source and discover that it's appropriate for your bike, I'd be glad to send it to you.

I've had a Triumph TR3 for almost forty years now and I'm relatively familiar with the postwar Triumph models. I've never seen a tool with the marque name for any Standard-Triumph model (postwar.) In fact, I've never seen a box wrench. Everything are open end, sorta like this c1954 Triumph TR2 tool kit from the original owners guide:

Can't speak about Triumph bikes, bicycles, or prewar cars. I wouldn't be surprised if that wrench is not connected to any of them -- maybe it's a typewriter tool.

Same. I've got a few, but no documentation to go with them. If these end up being what you're looking for, I could be persuaded to part ways with them. The large one on the right isn't branded Triumph, but came with the rest of them. Same with the 'Made in England' DOE at the bottom.

As a quick quide the cycles used Whitworth sized bolts and nuts.

The TR2 car shows the use of SAE sizes.
